Using Time Wisely on the ASWB Exam

There are 170 questions on the ASWB exam for social workers. You must complete the exam within 4 hours. Many exam takers make the mistake of rushing through the exam and not using all of the allotted time. While you don’t want to get caught running out of time, you want to try to use all of the time given. The ASWB exam questions are chock full of details. Missing one small detail can steer you off course completely and lead you to the wrong answer. And, of course, haste makes waste. Almost all of us remember a time or two in our lives when we made a silly mistake because we rushed.

We suggest that you come up with a timetable for yourself. Check in after every set of 25 questions to make sure that you are on target. Other than those check in times, don’t be so concerned with watching the clock. Constantly checking the time can raise anxiety and stress levels and can be distracting.

With 170 questions and a 4-hour timer, our interactive practice exam is a close simulation to the actual ASWB exam, giving you the opportunity to test your knowledge and time management skills before entering into the real exam environment. Learn more here!
